Gazette as World Heritage Area by UNESCO in year 2000,
Kinabalu Mountain with the highest peak 4095 meter, is popular amongst those mountain climbers. In situation of difficulty to get accommodation on top of the mountain due to high demand a new mountain hut has been built. This new facility also offer a new exciting activity where during climbing down one can experience new route climbing down and can choose between beginner route or advance route.

Day 1

Transfer from Kota Kinabalu City to Kinabalu National Park head quarters where the climber will do the registration, meet with the mountain guide and start climbing thru Timpohon gate.

In the afternoon at 3:30 pm after you reach the mountain hut, a briefing on the via ferrata will be conducted by the activity supervisor.

Day 2

A very early wake up at 2 am to start climbing for the top of the mountain.

After observing the sun rise, start heading back to mountain hut and on the way back experience the via ferrata walk. 

After breakfast, climb down back to Kinabalu National Park Headquarters, where at average speed one will reach the Timpohon Gate during lunch hour and have lunch at the park restaurant before transfer back to Kota Kinabalu where you stay.


Climbing Mount Kinabalu is one of the hardest activity and those who have these kinds of illness is advisable to not to participate for the tour.

Heart diseases, high blood pressure, asthma, duodenal or gastric ulcer, low blood pressure, diabetes, fits, joint pain, discomfort or tightness of chest, pneumonia, yellow fever, muscle jerk, obesity and those who easily affect due to extreme cold, extreme activity and high attitude

Guests are required to be present at Pendant Hut for the mandatory Via Ferrata briefing session between 3-4 pm. Guest will not be allowed on the Via Verrata if they miss the briefing session, any request for reimbursements will not be entertained..

Take your first steps on the World’s highest via ferrata and learn how to walk the Torq where you will experience the 6m monkey bridge and 430m rock traverse and ascend. Anyone at aged 10 – 70 can climb the Mountain Torq via ferrata

Advance Route (The Row's Peak Circuit)

Hike up to Low’s Peak. On descent, join the Trainers and take a via ferrata detour to see stunning views and explore places off the beaten track. Here one can experience the world’s highest via ferrata which include 22 meter foot bridge suspended at 3600 meter altitude.

Room, shower, toilet will be share amongst climber and the hut has a small dining hall where breakfast will be serve. Others than breakfast one have to proceed to Laban Rata Rest House which only located about 5 minutes walking. A small shop selling basic toiletry and amenities is available here. During dry season, water for shower might be a little bit chilling.
